Orange Moon Publishing was founded by Jennifer Kouakeu in 2018 to create authentic experiences through literature that children of color can identify with and embrace. Jennifer was first inspired to write children's literature as an elementary school teacher. After sifting through a new box of books for her class, she became discouraged when she found not one cover featuring a main character of color. Through that experience the seeds for her first book, Nina's Best Self, were planted.
